Winter Greens Project

The Winter Greens Project is the BCP’s project to grow microgreens through the winter months. The following is a summary of why and how plan to implement this project:

Why do we want a Winter Greens Project?

  • To provide fresh produce during the winters months for a minimum of 30 families in the community
  • To teach neighbors about the health benefits of microgreens
  • To teach neighbors to how to incorporate microgreens into their diet
  • To encourage neighbors to grow their own microgreens to supplement their nutritional needs

How will we implement the project?

  • By using multiple wire racks in conjunction with grow lights
  • By using at least two staff members to seed, water, and harvest microgreen trays.
  • By hosting multiple cooking workshops to show neighbors how to use microgreens
