BCP’s Seed Starting Course is a series of workshops where participants will learn various seed germination techniques that they can use to start a successful garden. The how and why of this project is below:
Why are launching this project?
- To train our neighbors in seedling identification
- To train our neighbors in how to care for seedlings
- To train our neighbors in seedling transplanting techniques
- To build confidence in aspiring gardeners to grow fresh produce
- To expand BCP’s garden network
How will we implement this project?
- By collaborating with community centers, recreational centers, and community associations
- By demonstrating various germination techniques, transplanting techniques, and seedling care methods
- By providing in-person opportunities for participants to develop hands-on experience practicing various germination techniques, transplanting techniques, and seedling care methods
- By providing supplemental video presentations that neighbors can use at home.
It is our intent to host these workshops at various locations in Northwest Baltimore beginning in late-January.
